Thanks to a custom developed coating for casting molds, Industri Beton A/S has succeeded in improving the work environment, reducing material consumption, and extending the lifespan of individual molds.
It took over a year of development, but it was worth the wait for Industri Beton A/S, which now has a completely new type of coating for its wooden concrete casting molds.
The coating, developed by Dana Lim, has proven to offer a range of benefits that are now providing advantages to the concrete element manufacturer.
The development of the new coating initially stemmed from Industri Beton’s desire to replace its previous coating with a more modern and label-free alternative.
In addition to being label-free, the new coating significantly reduces coating consumption compared to the previous product. Additionally, it has been found that the individual molds can now endure more castings than before.
“We were facing a major investment in, among other things, an extraction system if we had continued using the old coating. Thanks to Dana Lim’s product, we were able to avoid that expense, which alone has saved us a substantial amount. On top of that, there are additional derived benefits, so it was definitely the right path to take,” says Industri Beton Production Manager Lars Jul Hansen.
Developed from Scratch
The coating is used as a release agent at the bottom of the wooden molds that Industri Beton uses for concrete casting.
The coating is the result of a development process where Industri Beton and our specialists from the industrial department worked closely to fine-tune the coating until it achieved the required properties.
“The project with Industri Beton is an excellent example of how we at Dana Lim can develop adhesive and coating products from scratch, as we have highly competent staff who know everything about adhesives. A big complement to our specialists for reaching the goal with a product that truly makes a difference for the customer,” says Carsten Wiingaard Christiansen, technical sales consultant at Dana Lim A/S.
A Product with Great Potential
Looking ahead, we plan to include the new coating as part of our ProFect brand, which includes a wide range of adhesive products developed for various industrial sectors, including the wood, furniture, and construction industries.
“We see great potential in this product, and we are confident that it can benefit many other companies in the wood, carpentry, and concrete industries,” says Bjarne Kristensen, technical sales consultant at Dana Lim.
