Indoor sealing: Rising customer demands require the right materials

The winter season marks a shift as many craftsmen move from outdoor to indoor tasks. As the end user’s focus on aesthetics and finish has increased significantly, there is now a much higher demand for indoor sealing than before. To deliver the right solutions, HJ Fugeentreprise has, for years, maintained a close collaboration with Dana Lim, which matches the specific needs of indoor sealing.

While the summer months are typically dominated by outdoor work, the focus in the autumn and winter shifts to indoor projects. Sealing can be done year-round, but it requires special attention, especially when temperatures drop, as the cold extends the curing time of the sealant.

HJ Fugeentreprise, specializing in silicone, acrylic, and concrete sealing as well as repairs, has recently moved several of its tasks indoors. However, indoor projects differ significantly from outdoor tasks:

– Details are crucial when it comes to colors and finish. The end user want precision in every single joint, says Jesper Andersen, owner of HJ Fugeentreprise.

The end user’s demands for both aesthetics and functionality have evolved significantly in recent years. The average Dane has more money, and a wider selection of solutions means sealing now covers the entire home – from the kitchen to the bathroom and everything in between.

– It is not uncommon to seal up to 800 meters in a single house, says Jesper Andersen.

Tailored solutions require flexible materials

In the past, most tasks could be completed with standard colors such as white and gray, but today the sealant materials must be tailored to the home’s specific color scheme, which often ranges from green to curry yellow.

– It is important to offer sealant that is easy to paint over, as customers today expect the joint to match the exact colors they’ve chosen for their home, explains Jesper Andersen.

A longstanding and close collaboration with Dana Lim has therefore been crucial for HJ Fugeentreprise, as Dana Lim has developed a sealant that perfectly addresses the task.

– Dana Lim’s Interior Hybrid 521 is specifically designed for indoor use. The matte finish makes it easy to paint directly on the joint, and it is also easy to shape and requires minimal maintenance, explains Jesper Andersen.

Jesper Andersen emphasizes the importance of having a reliable partner, especially when it comes to larger construction projects. He is complemented by Flemming Drewes, Sales Manager at Dana Lim.

– For Dana Lim, it is crucial that we not only deliver quality products but also act as a sparring partner for our customers. We listen to their specific needs and are ready to respond quickly on-site, he concludes.
