Focus on employees creates double-digit growth at a leading manufacturer

This year’s accounts from Dana Lim emphasize that it is good business to bet on the soft values. With turnover growth of 10 per cent as well as growth in both activities, sales and market shares across the Nordics, the company continues to focus on well-being and social responsibility.

How do you create growth as a production company that primarily supplies the construction industry in the Nordics? At Dana Lim, the answer is simple: they invest in their employees.

The Nordics’ leading producer of adhesives, fillers and sealants annual accounts from 2018/2019 show that it is good business to focus on well-being and take social responsibility. In addition, the company has also experienced growth within activities, sales and market shares across the Nordic countries. At the start of 2019, Dana Lim bought Fugger Norge AS, which contributes to the goal of increased market shares in Norway.

Dana Lim lands on a profit of just under 11.7 million Danish kroner in 2019 and Managing Director Lars Christensen states:

– This year’s result is very satisfactory. We are still experiencing great activity and the great results come from the fact that we have succeeded over many years in attracting, retaining and developing the best competence, knowledge and know-how in the organisation. At the same time, we have a very flexible organization that enables us to act quickly and efficiently on new opportunities in the market.

Great Place to Work

In the month of November, Dana Lim has, for the second year in a row, been certified by the Great Place to Work consultancy. The manufacturer has even risen on the ranking list compared to 2018. This increases Dana Lim’s top position among Danish manufacturing companies in terms of parameters such as well-being, pride and joy in being part of the workplace.

– It is of great importance that the employees are motivated and thrive on a daily basis. This has a positive effect on the relationship with our customers and partners. At the same time, the certification is an important element in our growth strategy where, in the coming years, we will focus on growth in both Norway and Sweden, elaborates Christensen.

2019 has been a content-rich year

Dana Lim celebrated its 90th anniversary and was the year when the Dana Lim Prize set a new record with two donations of DKK 450,000 and DKK 200,000 respectively for medical research. The prize has been awarded since 1955 by the Kai Hansen Foundation, which owns Dana Lim.

Lars Christensen concludes:

– We focus on well-being and want to be a company where all employees, both young and more experienced, feel at home. It places high demands on us to constantly renew ourselves in step with the times, so that we can continue to attract and hopefully retain the good colleagues who create success at Dana Lim.
